WORKSHOPS AND EDUCATION ENGAGEMENTS
Creative Writing
In this hour-long workshop, Def-I discusses and demonstrates basic creative writing techniques, such as rhyme writing, storytelling, poetry, songwriting, how to write lyrics over music, and the art of improvisational rap. Students create their own poems, versus, and or stories based on their experiences and imagination. Def-I tailors these workshops for a variety of age groups, specifically k-12.

Motivational Speaking
Def-I provides motivational speaking that covers a variety of topics such as character building, substance abuse prevention, entrepreneurship, creative development, youth empowerment and goal setting. These workshops can be tailored to discuss a variety of issues and topics that are appropriate for youth and adults alike.

Performing

In this hour-long workshop Def-I demonstrates stage performance techniques to students who are interested in performing their music. Etiquette, mic control, crowd control, sound check practices, and breathing techniques are the key points covered. He guides students through annunciation, vocal training, and delivery methods as they apply to live performances.
Recording

In this hour-long workshop Def-I discusses the recording process with a special focus on vocals. He guides students through annunciation, vocal training, breathing techniques and delivery methods. Lastly, he goes over basic hardware needed to record, the signal chain, and basic concepts in recording using digital audio workstations.
Beat Making

Def-I’s beat making workshop covers a high-level overview of basic beat making concepts. He covers rhythm, timing, syncopation, sounds, and composition using beat boxing and body movements to instruct these concepts. In extended sessions of this workshop, Def-I guides students through the process of making beats using software. These skills include basic sound selection, drum programming, and mixing so students can make beats of their own.
